The culture of heaven is one of honor. Meaning, the nature of God is to honor humanity by bestowing upon them blessing, grace, and exaltation (Ps. 8:4-5, Matt. 23:13).
“Render to others what is due them. Honor to those whom honor is due.” - Romans 13:7
The culture of heaven is one of honor. Meaning, the nature of God is to honor humanity by bestowing upon them blessing, grace, and exaltation (Ps. 8:4-5, Matt. 23:13). As God’s image bearing body we have a responsibility to receive for the purpose of giving away (Matt. 10:8). That which God graciously gives us in honor isn't meant to be hoarded up in our heart and merely attained in heaven in days to come. It is a gift given by God for the purpose of our current personal redemption, positioning us to partner with God to release heaven on earth for collective groups of people to inherit and experience the abundant love, grace, and goodness of God.
“From now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way we do so no longer.” - 2 Corinthians 5:16
Honor isn't based upon another person’s character, it is based upon yours. When we attempt to honor based upon a personal perception of worthiness we have become those who are wise in our own eyes, regarding others from the flesh rather than the Spirit. However, when operating in life from heaven’s perspective we can properly see the value another holds in the eyes of God. No longer are we entangled with judgemental perceptions that see people merely as they are, rather we are empowered to see other’s based upon who they were destined to be as image bearers of God. Rather than calling others out for what they are not, when empowered with the perspective of heaven’s honor we can begin to call others up to who they were created to be in the Kingdom of God. The former releases words of death while the latter releases words of life (Prov. 18:21).
“Do not withhold good from those who it is due when it is in your power to act.” - Proverbs 3:27
God will not withhold from you the good that is due based upon your surrender, submission, and faithful obedience to him. Firstly, freely receive his honor over your life today. None of us can give away that which we haven’t received from heaven (John 3:27). If you do not know how heaven is royally honoring your identity and destiny in Christ, you will not be able to partner from heaven’s perspective to honor others from theirs. As you freely receive heaven’s honor over your life, partner with God to give as a conduit to others what he is giving to them. Today, receive the honor of heaven over your life and let Christ send you out empowered by the Spirit of God to honor others from heaven’s perspective.
